August Henry Art Bridge Studio Kyoto Japan

August Henry is an interdisciplinary maker creating installations considerate of the environment they inhabit. They use plant, monster, and spirit motifs as means of exemplifying their research on the self in relation to care, home, and community. Through historical, cultural, and scientific research, they produce works using paint, textile, light, video, furniture, essay, and performance.

Their work is collected internationally and has been exhibited at Bridge To Kyoto, Bridge Studio, School of Visual Arts in New York, and Gustavus Adolphus College. They are a recurring guest speaker at Minneapolis College of Art & Design on studio practice and furniture design. Their works are in film and television, most recently in the upcoming short film “The Killing Dream” by Htet Gyaw. August is currently producing works for 5 exhibitions in Kyoto, Japan in partnership with Bridge Studio. August founded Mid Morning Modern where they do historical restoration and preservation of 19th & 20th Century design.
