August Henry

August Henry uses gouache, watercolor, oil paints, fabric, light, and reflections to create airy, verdure compositions. He personifies color using the multiplicity of layered flora and fauna as subject. Juxtaposing constrained manmade aesthetics with the infinity of wild vegetation, the images infiltrate urban spaces with natural aesthetics. 

The iridescently painted works hang replicate stained glass windows in a cathedral. Looking outward from the inside, verdant imagery becomes a holistic experience - the spiritual effect of nature. The delicate leaves loosely fall into, onto, and over each other guiding the eye of the viewer deeper into the wilderness.
